Hartford, October 30, 2024 – Airbus, the Connecticut Office of Manufacturing, Aerospace Components Manufacturers (ACM), and U.S. Commercial Service today hosted a procurement conference for more than 100 Connecticut business owners and state officials to promote increased business between the state’s aerospace manufacturers and Airbus.
A team of Airbus executives, including Airbus in North America’s Chairman and CEO Robin Hayes, participated in the day-long conference, Preparing the Future Supply Chain, which provided attendees with the opportunity to hear about the company’s procurement needs in its commercial aircraft, helicopter, and defense and space companies and participate in business-to-business supply chain meetings. Connecticut is the top supplier state to Airbus in the U.S.
“Connecticut is proud to be the home of the world’s top aerospace manufacturing companies, many of which are developing the innovative technologies that are transforming this industry,” Governor Ned Lamont said. “By partnering together, we can support the continued growth of these businesses and the thousands of jobs they support here in Connecticut.”
“We are proud of the longstanding partnership with the Connecticut aerospace supply chain, having invested nearly $5 billion in supplier spend in 2023 alone, and more than $25 billion in the past decade. The expertise and innovation from this region are critical to supporting our commercial aircraft, helicopter, and defense and space programs,” said Hayes. “We look forward to building on this foundation and exploring new opportunities to work with additional suppliers across Connecticut as we continue to grow our supplier network.”
